The index is a searchable document of access points to client information, institution names and dates of birth and dates of death (if available) contained in series number NTRS 3758. A reference copy is available in NTRS 3773.

Function / Content

This series consists of a preservation copy of the index to administration files of the Social Development Branch in the Department of the Northern Territory. The files contain correspondence associated with budget estimates and economic data, staff salary and conditions, legislation from the Northern Territory and other jurisdictions, returns from institutions including child welfare homes, and prisons and gaols. Individual client services, such as spectacles for pensioners, are also included.
